Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, sets out exemptions from that right and places a number of obligations on public authorities. The Parish Council has adopted the 2009 Model Publication Scheme issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office. This endorses our commitment to routinely publish and make available a broad amount of information about the council as part of our normal business activities. See the Model Publication Scheme in PDF format. We aim to ensure that a significant amount of information is available without the need for a specific request, and therefore minimise inconvenience and cost to the public. Most of the information is available here on our website. In addition, where possible or practicable we make information available on the parish notice boards located at the car park in Station Road and near the church at Salehurst and in our quarterly parish Newsletter. The Council has produced a Guide to Information, a table showing the information that is available, how it can be obtained and whether there is a charge. The guide includes a schedule of charges where applicable.

Code of Conduct
In 1995, in order to ensure high standards of conduct, the Committee for Standards in Public Life established the Seven Principles of Public Life . These apply to anyone who works as a public office-holder, including Parish Councillors. Parish/Town Councils are required to establish a Code of Conduct. The Salehurst & Robertsbridge Parish Council Code of Conduct for Members 2012 is based on the ‘Seven Principles’. The Seven Principles of Public Life were reviewed and updated in 2013.
Registration of Interests
Under the Code of Conduct, Members (Councillors) are required to register their ‘Disclosable Pecuniary Interests’ and ‘Other Interests’ as outlined in Appendix A and B of the Code, within 28 days of becoming a Member.
To view a Councillor’s Register of Interests go to the Councillors section of the Meet your Councillors Page.
Member Allowances
The Parish Council has resolved not to pay a Parish Basic Allowance to any Member. However, travelling and subsistence allowances are payable for certain duties undertaken outside the parish.
