Which Council looks after you?
Do you know which Council empties your dustbins, runs Salehurst Cemetery, repairs broken streetlights, fixes potholes, or deals with fallen trees blocking the road, pavement or public right of way? We know it can be confusing!
It’s not always easy to find out who is responsible for what, which can sometimes be very frustrating. The information below is designed to point you in the right direction. If you need help we can put you on the right path, even if we can’t help directly.

Responsible for: Station Road car park and toilets, street lights (not on the A21), Salehurst Cemetery in Beech House Lane (not the Churchyard), bus shelters, public seats, dog waste bins, some grit bins, some defibrillators, War Memorial and clock, Bishops Meadow in Bishops Lane (including the play equipment), Pipers Field and Jubilee Garden in Station Road, the Recreation Ground on the Clappers including play equipment, football field, football pavilion, toilets and car park (but not the cricket field/pavilion, which is privately owned by Robertsbridge Cricket Club) and the Woodgate Pocket Park situated to the NW of the Recreation Ground.

Responsible for: household waste collection, recycling, road (and pavement) sweeping, litter bins, licensing, environmental health, planning and building control, council tax, dog fouling and control, housing, graffiti removal, fly tipping.

Responsible in the village for: Education (find term dates etc), Rights of Way (public footpaths and bridleways etc), Social Services, Public Transport (buses) etc.
