This is from Coronation Cottages to the Church.
The diversion is via Silverhill to Bourne Lane and Rocks Hill down to Salehurst.

Dog Walkers: Keep Dogs Under Control Around Livestock
Unlimited fines and stronger enforcement will take effect under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) Act 2025
WHAT COUNTS AS AN OFFENCE
A dog is committing an offence if it:
- Attacks livestock
- Chases livestock
- Disturbs or stresses livestock — even without touching them
- Is loose and not under control in a field with livestock
Distress alone is enough.
WHAT YOU MUST DO
- Keep dogs on a short lead near livestock
- Avoid fields with livestock if your dog is excitable
- Extra care during lambing season
- Stick to marked paths
- Close gates
- If unsure: lead on
RESPECT THE COUNTRYSIDE Protect livestock. Keep dogs safe.
Submit your views by Sunday on latest proposals for the Mill Site
On 28th February Homes England exhibited their latest proposals for the Mill Site at Robertsbridge Club, ahead of submitting a planning application for the site. The deadline for community feedback is midnight of Sunday 15/Monday 16 March. All residents are invited to complete the Hodsons Feedback Form. If you did not visit the exhibition you can view the exhibition boards when you open the feedback form online.
Annual Parish Assembly – what is that?
Save the date for our Annual Parish Assembly – Monday 20th April 7pm. Every year, like every other Parish Council, we hold a meeting called an Annual Parish Assembly in Robertsbridge Village Hall. This is not a Council meeting, but a meeting we are legally required to organise for the electors of the parish. It is a great opportunity not just to meet your Parish, District and County Councillors and hear what they have been working on and ask questions, but also to meet representatives from local groups and organisations who ‘showcase’ what Robertsbridge has to offer. We will be sending out invites to local groups next week so if you don’t hear anything from us by 22nd March please let us know.
Food Waste Collections to start soon
From 31 March 2026, all councils in England are legally required to provide separate weekly food waste collections under the Environment Act 2021 and the Government’s Simpler Recycling regulations. This means Rother District Council must deliver a food waste container to every eligible household. You will be told soon when to start using the bin. Receiving the container does not place any obligation on you to participate in the service, but Rother are required by law to ensure it is available to all households.
We hope you participate, but if for any reason you are not going to use either your small kitchen food caddy or larger outside food bin please contact the parish office and we will keep them as spares.

344 NEW HOMES PROPOSED FOR ROBERTSBRIDGE
The Parish Council (PC) wants residents to be aware that Rother District Council (RDC) has produced draft proposals which include a substantial increase in the number of new homes to be built in the village. Our village produced Salehurst & Robertsbridge Neighbourhood Plan (NP), published July 2018, which PROPOSED 180 NEW DWELLINGS over five development sites, plus 17 had already been approved on a sixth site adjacent to Culverwells. RDC, in their current Draft Local Plan, IS NOW PROPOSING AN ADDITIONAL 147 HOMES, , making a total (including the numbers / sites in the NP) of 344 for our Parish. The PC considers that the proposed additional homes for Grove Farm (an extra 70) and Openfield site adjacent to the Mill Site (50) are excessive and if built would have an unacceptable impact on the village, particularly in the context of our location within the High Weald National Landscape (formerly AONB). The PC believes the 25 new homes proposed by Homes England on the Openfield site is the maximum number this site can accommodate. The PC will be formally responding to RDC’s consultation and it would be really helpful if residents also individually respond, giving their views on the proposals Local Plan Consultation – Rother District Council by the closing date of 23rd March. RDC is hosting an exhibition of all sites on Tuesday 10th March from 3-7pm in Battle Memorial Hall which we strongly encourage residents to attend.

We need one more person to join our team of nine Parish Councillors. All enquiries welcome to the Clerk or any of the existing Councillors. Saturday 28th February Homes England Community Drop in at Robertsbridge Club 11am-3pm
Sunday 1st March Parish Council Annual Litter Pick 2-4pm
Saturday 28th February Homes England are holding a community engagement drop-in at Robertsbridge Club. Visit anytime between 11am and 3pm to view and comment on Home England’s proposed new layout for Hodson’s Mill development (the old mill site off Northbridge Street). Homes England have looked at the feedback from their community workshops before Christmas and changed their layout. This is an event run by Homes England so it’s your chance to have your say. Help shape the project before they submit a planning application.
Sunday 1st March the Parish Council is holding its annual village litter pick 2-4pm. Meet at the Recreation Ground. Grab your wellies and come along whatever the weather. Last year less people came to help so we are looking forward to a bigger turnout this year. All ages welcome, whether you can stay for half an hour, an hour or two.
