Planning Appeal for 41 homes at Bishops Lane
/in News/by Assistant ClerkThe developer has lodged an appeal against the refusal of planning permission for 41 new homes at Bishops Lane which can be found on the Appeal register The appeal will be decided by an Inspector on written representations.. This appeal will be discussed at our next Parish Planning Committee on WEDNESDAY 8th APRIL 7.30pm at Robertsbridge Youth Centre. Councillors will consider submitting further comment following the recent consultation on the Rother Draft Local Plan. The site has not been included for development in the Rother Plan and the Parish Council strongly supported that. It is also felt that the Inspector should visit the site as part of their decision making. If you have already submitted comments on Rother website these will be read by the Inspector but you can modify or submit new comments on the Appeal website by 11.59pm on 23 April.

Final chance to comment on Rother Draft Local Plan today, Monday
/in Instant News, News/by Assistant ClerkA reminder…Rother District Council (RDC) has produced draft proposals which include a substantial increase in the number of new homes to be built in the village. Our village produced Salehurst & Robertsbridge Neighbourhood Plan (NP), published July 2018, which PROPOSED 180 NEW DWELLINGS over five development sites, plus 17 had already been approved on a sixth site adjacent to Culverwells. RDC, in their current Draft Local Plan, IS NOW PROPOSING AN ADDITIONAL 147 HOMES, , making a total (including the numbers / sites in the NP) of 344 for our Parish. The PC considers that the proposed additional homes for Grove Farm (an extra 70) and Openfield site adjacent to the Mill Site (50) are excessive and if built would have an unacceptable impact on the village, particularly in the context of our location within the High Weald National Landscape (formerly AONB). The PC believes the 25 new homes proposed by Homes England on the Openfield site is the maximum number this site can accommodate. The PC will be formally responding to RDC’s consultation and it would be really helpful if residents also individually respond, giving their views on the proposals Local Plan Consultation – Rother District Council by the closing date of 23rd March, 23.59pm.
